Ice and Mud

Today was a day for seeing some of the beautiful sights Alaska has to offer. Our main destination was Matanuska Glacier. We actually got to walk out to and hike ON the glacier! It was amazing!!! It wasn't the easier hike I've ever been on, but it was so much fun!!!! The view was BEAUTIFUL! Every angle was amazing. The mountains were breathtaking and the streams and pools on the glacier was spectacular! I think the combination of rocks, ice, and water was probably the most unique thing I've ever seen.

On the way back to the car, we ran into a little trouble. Walking on the patches of rock was much easier to walk on than the ice. We found a nice little rock path and things were gong great. However, we ran into a patch mud. This wasn't your average mud; it was glacier silt and water. Set a foot in it and you start to sink! All of our shoes were covered with the stuff, and in my case, the back of my jeans! I slipped and landed in a puddle of the stuff. The entire situation was hilarious!! I wish somebody could have stopped slipping in the mud long enough to get pictures of the rest of us battling the gray goop! That little adventure in one word: priceless!

It was really incredible to see God's work today. We saw it in the mountains, the glacier, the rushing water, and even in the mud. He really got to show off His creative side when He created Alaska. How can anybody who live in this state not know that God is real? Why is 95% of Alaska's population lost? His creation is proclaiming His name! Pray for the people of Alaska. Pray that their eyes will opened to the Truth.
